Physical Requirements including, but not limited to:

Duties/Responsibilities: Under direction of supervisor, effectively and efficiently:
- Maintain a professional, organized, clean lamination department
- Contribute to team effort meeting production goals
- Clean and maintain tools and equipment for proper use and perform daily tool maintenance
- Spray chopped fiberglass, resins, and catalysts into prepared molds or dyes using pneumatic spray guns with chopper attachments
- Fiberglass mats, cloth, wood-bracing materials and small parts as required by projects being assembled
- Pat or press layers of saturated mats or cloth into place on molds, using brushes or hands,
- Smooth out wrinkles and air bubbles with hands or squeegees
- Mix catalysts into resins and saturate cloth and mats with mixtures using brushes
- Apply layers of resin to mold surfaces prior to placement of fiberglass mats, repeating layers until products have the desired thickness and resins have jelled
- Bond wood reinforcing strips to decks and cabin structures of watercraft, using resin-saturated fiberglass
- Identify all boats made by shape, size and model
- Check completed products for conformance to specifications and for defects by measuring with rulers or micrometers, by checking them visually, or by tapping them to detect bubbles or dead spots.
- Trim excess materials from molds, using hand shears or trimming knives
- Help Product Development with new product launches into production
- Other duties as assigned
Operations Monitoring:
- Watching gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Work the hours required for this position. Overtime may be required
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience, preferably in a boat lamination department
- Maintain a positive attitude in a team environment
- Self-starter and organized
- Maintain high standards of quality,
- Use all hand tools and measuring equipment in the lamination process
- Demonstrate ability to adapt quickly in a manufacturing environment
- Reliable transportation
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Physical Requirements including, but not limited to:
- Able to lift 50+ lbs.
- Work in a non-climate-controlled environment
- Climbing, stopping, kneeling, reaching, squatting and bending
- May work on knees, seated laying down standing up
- May require individual to be in awkward positions
- May be exposed to acetone resin fiberglass, putties, glues, cleaners
